What Now? | Linda Thurwanger
What Now?

You've spent decades being who everyone needed you to be.
Now you're wondering who you are.

Retirement, divorce, an empty house, a career that no longer fits, or simply a quiet voice asking "what now?" The hardest part of a transition is not the change itself. It is not knowing what to do next. Let's find your next move, together.

For any woman navigating a transition in work or life.
When Something Feels Off

So... what now?

You are still capable. Still showing up. Still the one other people lean on. But something has shifted, and a part of you has been quietly bracing for a while now.

Maybe it is your work, where the conversations you used to be part of happen without you now. Maybe it is your home, suddenly quieter than it has ever been. Maybe a marriage ended, a parent is gone, or retirement arrived and did not feel the way you expected. Maybe nothing dramatic happened at all, and yet something is undeniably different.

Here is the first thing worth saying clearly: you are not lost, and you are not behind. You are in a transition, and a transition is a real thing with a real shape. It feels like fog only because no one has handed you a way to read this particular moment.

You don't need another hobby. You need to know what is actually happening, and what to do about it.

You Are Not Imagining It

The same shift wears many faces

Whatever brought you here, you may recognize yourself in more than one of these.

Quiet Firing

Not a layoff and not a confrontation. A slow repositioning. Fewer invitations to the table, your influence quietly rerouted around you, and because nothing is said directly, you are left questioning your own perception.

The Empty House

The role that organized your days for decades has dissolved. The children are grown, a marriage has ended, a parent is gone. The home is quieter than ever, and in that quiet an old question finally gets loud: now what?

Starting Over

Something concrete changed and you are rebuilding on ground that moved. The worry is practical and urgent, you did not expect to be here at this age, and you need real next steps far more than encouragement.

Outgrowing Your Life

From the outside everything looks fine. Inside, you sense there is more of you than you are living. The life you built in your thirties and forties no longer fits the woman you have become, and you can feel it.

Feeling unsettled is not weakness. It is an accurate read of a real situation.

The Turn

This is not where your story ends. It is where the next one begins.

Here is what most "next chapter" advice gets wrong: it skips straight to answers without the step where you figure out what is actually going on. So the answers never quite fit. We do not skip it.

Life's most difficult seasons are often the preparation for its most meaningful chapters. The women who move through this season well are not the ones who had it all figured out. They are the ones who got clear enough to choose, and then trusted themselves to act. That is learnable, and it is closer than the months of circling have made it feel.

STEP ONE

Make sense of it

Name what is actually happening, so the fog lifts and you can see your real situation clearly.

STEP TWO

See it new

Gently challenge the story that it is too late, or that you are broken, so a different way forward opens up.

STEP THREE

Trust yourself again

Rebuild trust in your own judgment, so you can decide your next move and actually act on it.

How It Works

The What Now? Program

A private 90-day journey of six one-to-one sessions, with reflection support between. No group, no twelve modules. Just you, Linda, and the deep work of moving from "so... what now?" to a next chapter you have truly chosen.

Weeks 1 to 4

Make sense of it

We slow the spin and uncover what is really happening beneath the surface: what has shifted, where you feel most unsettled, and what part of your identity or direction feels threatened.

Weeks 4 to 8

See it new

We gently challenge the stories that keep you stuck, reconnect you with strengths you had lost sight of, and open possibilities you could not see from inside the fog.

Weeks 8 to 12

Trust and move

We turn insight into direction. You rebuild trust in your own judgment and leave with a grounded plan for your next chapter, and the confidence to act on it.

Between Every Session

You receive focused reflection prompts and support to process what surfaces, plus a recording and a written summary of each session. Most women describe this as the part that does the deeper work while they go about their life.

Over 90 days, you move from spinning in "what now?" to standing in a next chapter you have chosen, with the clarity and confidence to live it.

What You Walk Away With

Not just understanding. A direction.

Your next move

A grounded decision about what comes next, and the first concrete steps to take.

Language for it

Clear words for what you are living through, instead of vague, exhausting confusion.

Steadier footing

A calmer nervous system and a more grounded perspective on your situation.

Clearer understanding

Specific insight into what is changing, why, and what it means for you.

Stronger self-trust

Renewed confidence in your own read of your own life.

Room to breathe

Permission to stop performing "fine," and a sense that the next chapter is yours to shape.

The What Now? Program

This is deep, personal work: six private sessions over 90 days to carry you from "what now?" to a next chapter you have chosen and know how to live. It is not for everyone, and it is not meant to be.

Because this is personal, in-depth work, we talk through the investment together on your Next Step Conversation, once we both know it is the right fit.

About Linda

I don't coach from theory. I coach from truth.

Before I became a coach, I built a multi-decade career across engineering, technology, retail, manufacturing, human resources, and marketing. I sat in the corporate rooms and navigated the restructuring and the reorgs. And then I was quietly fired. Not with a conversation, but with a slow repositioning I felt long before I could name it.

I have also lived through divorce, single parenting, and the profound loss of people I loved. The kind of upheaval that strips you down to what is essential and asks you to rebuild your sense of self. So I understand both the outer landscape and the inner terrain of a life transition, because I have stood exactly where you are standing now. I am also the author of "What Now?", a book that helps women name where they are and choose what comes next.

"Transitions do not require panic. They require orientation." I help women make sense of what is happening, see it in a new way, and trust themselves again, so they can decide what comes next.

Questions Women Ask

Before you decide

Is this therapy?

No. This is focused, strategic coaching. We are not processing the past for its own sake. We are getting clear on what is happening now and what it means for what comes next. If deeper therapeutic work would serve you, I will tell you honestly.

What if I am not even sure what is wrong?

That is exactly what this is designed for. You do not need to know what you want or what you are going to do. You only need to recognize that something has shifted. That recognition is enough to begin.

What if I have tried coaching before and it did not help?

Most women who say this describe coaching that felt generic, a lot of frameworks applied without really listening. This starts by listening. We go at your pace, and nothing is prescribed before we understand what is actually happening.

What does the 90 days look like?

Over the 90 days, we meet for six private one-to-one sessions with reflection support between them. We settle the rhythm together, usually a session every couple of weeks. .

What if I need more support afterward?

Some women continue with ongoing support after the 90 days and some are ready to carry it forward on their own. That decision is entirely yours, with no pressure and no upsell.

How do I start?
