Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms everywhere!  I hope you had the opportunity to spend some time with your child/children today either in person or by telephone. 

There is no role more important in life or more challenging than that of a parent.  Parents have the greatest influence with regard to their child’s development.  If a child is brought up in a home that is loving, honest and nurturing, the child will grow into a well adjusted, healthy, confident and loving adult.  

Children are constantly watching their Moms and Dads.  Their minds are like sponges learning from the things they see their parents do.  If a parent says they believe in telling the truth, but the child observes the parent acting in an untruthful manner, which message stays with the child?  The message that says “be truthful” or the action that was witnessed?

As you go through your day to day activities, be mindful of the examples you set for your children.  Live a life that you would be proud for your child to imitate.
